The MEDIVista is a touchscreen entertainment system/medical information terminal aimed at hospitals from an Irish company called Lincor Solutions. The system is designed to be installed near hospital beds and would give staff access to x-rays and medical information, while also letting patients entertain themselves with TV, phone, radio, email, and web surfing.
That last feature is where things get interesting for Frame Channel users. Wouldn’t it be great for those in the hospital to be able to point a browser or RSS reader to their Frame Channel account and set their MEDIVista to display their favorite family photos? Hospital stays can be lonely or scary, but seeing the smiling faces of family or friends just inches away could make things a little more tolerable and patients a little happier. MEDIVista’s going into a pilot program in Teaneck, New Jersey, soon.
